It’s a fun spot where dogs can relax and sip water from mini-wine tanks while their owners savor Raymond’s iconic wines inside.”
From its very first harvest in 1974, Raymond Vineyards has upheld an enduring reputation as one of the Napa Valley’s iconic, pioneering wineries. The winery was founded by Roy Raymond and his two sons, Roy Jr. and Walter, and quickly became known for its elegant wines with a beautiful balance of finesse, power, and complexity.

Today, Raymond Vineyards has more than 300 acres of Napa Valley vineyards, including two estate vineyard sites in the prestigious Rutherford and St. Helena appellations. In late 2009, Jean-Charles Boisset of Boisset Family Estates became the proprietor of Raymond Vineyards. An advocate for organic and Biodynamic farming, Jean-Charles immediately began to implement these farming practices. In 2013, the vineyards became certified organic, certified Biodynamic, and 100 percent solar-powered.

The excellent winemaking team led by Stephanie Putnam and consultant Philippe Melka continually produces wines that uphold the Raymond name. Recent accolades include outstanding scores for the 2009 Generations Cabernet Sauvignon (95 points, Wine Spectator; 94 points, Wine Enthusiast); and the 2009 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (93 points, Wine & Spirit’s; 92 points, Wine Enthusiast).

Although the exquisite wines are reason enough to visit, Raymond Vineyards is a dynamic destination. The winery was named 2012 Wine Enthusiast American Winery of the Year for its dedication to inspiring a passion for wine in a fun and creative environment. Tasting room guests are encouraged to take part in one of many unique experiences located in a variety of settings like the Red Room Private Lounge, the Crystal Cellar, the Barrel Cellar, and the Library Room. Each setting offers a unique experience to broaden one’s knowledge and appreciation of wine. Outside, the two-acre Theater of Nature (the region’s largest) is an utterly engaging educational display of Biodynamic and organic farming. Four-legged guests enjoy the Frenchie Winery, named after Jean-Charles’ French bulldog. It’s a fun spot where dogs can relax and sip water from mini-wine tanks while their owners savor Raymond’s iconic wines inside.
