The families strongly embrace the values of quality, hospitality, and sustainability.”
The name Amavi (ahh-muh-vee) is derived from two Latin words: amor (love) and vita (life). It was chosen by the Goff, McKibben, and Pellet families when they decided to create a brand focused on limited lots of Walla Walla Valley’s star varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.

All of the grapes for Amavi Cellars wines are resourced from the families’ three estate vineyards: Seven Hills, Pepper Bridge, and Les Collines. The wines are created in a state-of-the-art gravity-flow winery under the watchful eye of Jean-François Pellet, a third-generation winemaker. Since the first bottling in 2001, Amavi Cellars wines have been praised for their high quality and "wallet- friendly" price points. In fact the winery has been referred to as a rising star by Wine Spectator; one of Washington’s outperforming labels by The San Francisco Chronicle; and a Top 100 Winery by Wine & Spirits Magazine.

The families strongly embrace the values of quality, hospitality, and sustainability. They were instrumental in establishing the region’s sustainable viticulture organization, Vinea, and produce their estate grapes with as little intervention as possible. They are also innovators in technology, with intricate, custom-built irrigation systems and management applications. Amavi Cellars is also one of the nation’s few boutique wineries to use an optical sorter.

Whether in Walla Walla or Woodinville, wine tourists should put a visit to Amavi Cellars at the top of their to-do list. The Walla Walla tasting room’s sweeping decks on its east and north sides celebrate the beauty of Walla Walla Wine Country. On warmer days, guests often bring a packed lunch for the patio or picnic tables on the lawn. It’s also a great venue for a private party or romantic wedding. The Woodinville tasting room, just behind the Hollywood Schoolhouse, pours the wines of both Amavi Cellars and its sister winery, Pepper Bridge. For the love of life and quality wines, Amavi Cellars is a name to know.
