For more than 150 years, grapevines have flourished in Lodi on farms that have rarely changed hands. Instead, they have been proudly passed from grandfather, to father, to son and daughter.
Through the years, these multigenerational farming families have crossed paths in many ways, tightly weaving the legacy that stands behind Lodi wine. Lodi enjoys a classic Mediterranean climate. For decades, it has been quiet, but far from a sleeping giant, producing an astounding amount of grapes for countless wineries throughout California. In the heart of the Lodi appellation, Peltier Winery & Vineyards is an innovative, cutting-edge winery and custom crush facility dedicated to producing outstanding wines from its own sustainably grown grapes. The family-owned winery produces an impressive portfolio of single varietals, blends, and a dessert wine.

This winery was founded in 1991 by the Rippey family, fourth-generation Napa natives. The tasting room is housed in a little stone cottage. Fascinating winemaking techniques, including giant concrete fermentation tanks and flash détente technology, assure guests that they’ll always discover something new. Plus the calendar is filled with events and educational seminars.

With a passion for Rhône varietals and the word “acquiesce” as her mantra, Winemaker Susan Tipton lovingly crafts a stellar lineup of unique Rhône-style white wines including Picpoul Blanc, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier, Belle Blanc, and Grenache Rosé. The wines, styled to be pure and food friendly, are bottled in graceful French wine bottles befitting their contents.
