Dr. Gannon has been in private practice in San Francisco for over 20 years helping individuals and couples live more positive and happier lives. She specializes in relationship issues, self esteem, health and wellness, depression, anxiety, family of origin issues, parenthood, work/life balance, career and life transitions.
Michelle received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology, and did her Ph.D. dissertation on Psychotherapy Outcome as a Stanford University research assistant. She did her undergraduate work at the University of Toronto in Canada, and knew even in high school that she wanted to be a clinical psychologist.
In her San Francisco private practice, Michelle's clients describe her as an active, positive and optimistic therapist who really cares about them, and is also realistic and challenging. She helps her clients be authentic and empowered, understand themselves, and make proactive changes. She also helps couples prioritize their relationships, be more connected and loving, learn effective empathic communication and conflict resolution skills, and enhance intimacy.
In addition to her private practice, Michelle is a founder of Marriage Prep 101, an award winning workshop for seriously dating, engaged and newlywed couples that she teaches with her husband, Dr. Patrick Gannon. They combine their professional experience with the latest research that shows how relationships succeed and fail. They also share insights and solutions from their own relationship and family life. Marriage Prep 101 couples describe the workshops as positive, proactive, intentional and fun! The Gannons have taught almost 100 workshops to 1,500 couples the past 10 years.
