Gifts for the Husband

For the Photobug

Nikon D3000
www.nikonusa.com
If you took a room full of photographers and asked them to pick the best camera to get your husband for Christmas, you'd most likely have a brawl with half fighting for Canon and the other arguing for Nikon. With either brand you can't go wrong. We've highlighted just two here, but your cuddly photobug may want more or less camera. The Nikon D3000 shoots a really high quality 10.2 megapixel image, comes with a 3x 18-55mm Zoom-NIKKOR VR image stabilization lens, can shoot continuous up to three frames-per-second, has a 3-inch color LCD monitor, and has automatic image sensor cleaning—particularly nice if he'll be shooting in the "field." Click the link above for more details.
Price: $599.95

Canon EOS Rebel T1i
www.usa.canon.com
This Canon camera offers a little more power compared to our Nikon above, but it also comes with a slightly bigger price tag too. The Canon EOS Rebel T1i shoots 15.1 megapixel images with the help of the DIGIC 4 Image Processor, offers full HD video capture at 1920 x 1080 resolution with HDMI output for HD viewing of stills and video, has a 3-inch Clear View LCD, and comes with a EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens. If your husband already has his camera or if a new one is out of the budget, think about grabbing a new, faster and bigger memory card (think of it as digital version of film); a new lens; or other accessory like a new bag for his gear.
Price: $799.99

Get 'Er Done

Ryobi 12 Volt Auto Hammer
www.ryobitools.com
You know that scream you hear when your husband's trying to put something together and he smashes his finger with a hammer? You can replace those cries with, "Honey, come here and check this out!" All it takes is a robo-hammer. The Ryobi 12 Volt Auto Hammer does what you're probably guess, it drives nails. More specifically, it drive nails up to 3.5-inches long. You may be thinking, my husband isn't that lazy. He may not be, one of the big advantages of the Ryobi hammer is that it allows your handyman to drive nails in really tight spots because he doesn't need room to swing. Did we mention that it's a hammer that needs a battery? What guy wouldn't want that?
Price: $89

For the Gadget Hound

Powermat
www.powermat.com
Are you tired of all the cords and power strips dirtying up the look of your home? Think of the Powermat as the powerstrip 2.0. In short, it charges your devices wireless. All you have to do is rest your phone, iPod, camera, GPS device, headset or other compatible device on the mat, that's it. Of course, you will need to get your battery talking to your mat, which will require a receiver for each device you wish to place on the mat. If you don't have a supported device, the Powermat comes with a Powercube that lets you charge devices with a USB port. One downfall to the Powermat is that you can only charge three devices at once, but that's a small price to pay for clean counters.
Price: $99.99

For the Don Draper Wannabe

Mad Men Suit from Brooks Brothers
www.brooksbrothers.com
You know what's awesome about the main character, Don Draper, from the AMC hit show Mad Men? Everything! Okay, maybe not the infidelity thing, or his disappearing acts while he finds himself, and he's also not really a father-of-the-year candidate. Hmm, at least he dresses well. And your perfect husband can now look just as sharp with a Mad Men Suit from Brooks Brothers. The suit was designed by the show's costume designer, Janie Bryant. You may be thinking, he's already got a suit like that and it's been sitting in his closet since the 60s. Perhaps, but we're betting it no longer fits. Like most things in the 60s, this wool suit is made in the U.S.—a point Don would sell you on for sure. We'll be honest, this isn't a cheap gift, but we think you'll agree that this is a gift both of you will appreciate.
Price: $998

Get Him Pumped

Weider 20lb Powerbell
www.getpowerbell.com
If you did some cleaning out this year, you may have tossed out a few pieces of exercise equipment. For one, you husband never used it, and second because it took up too much space. If your husband is into kettle bell exercises or has been talking about it, the Weider 20lb Powerbell is a 7 in 1 kit that will allow him the workout he needs and the compact space you can live with. The Powerbell comes with six plates, a workout DVD and a fitness journal. If he's trying to fit into his old Mad Men suit, this might be just the thing.
Price: $99.99

For the Gamer

Unchartered 2: Among Theives
http://www.unchartedthegame.com
Already being labeled as one of the best games of all time, Unchartered 2 is an instant classic and lets you continue the story of Nathan Drake as he searches for a lost treasure left by explorer Marco Polo. The game offers stunning graphics, movie-like camera angles and cinematography, sharp dialog, and Indiana Jones-like adventure. Did we mention that it's fun to play? Unchartered 2 also offers online game play—something not offered in the original. Unfortunately, this game is only available for the Playstation 3 system—sorry Xbox users. If you only have the budget for one game this Christmas, let your husband unwrap this treasure.
Price: $59

Assassin's Creed 2
http://assassinscreed.uk.ubi.com
This is definitely the season of the sequel. Assassin's Creed 2 continues the story of a secret group of assassin's who have helped shape history. In Assassin's Creed 2, users take over as Ezio, an assassin in training who begins his journey in Florence, Italy in the 1400s. The game is visually stunning and offers many, many hours of exploration and game play. The newest game also adds a new character to the story, Leonardo DiVince. Think of Leonardo as your character's Q (from James Bond). In some ways, you feel like you're playing a Dan Brown book, except you fight back a little more.
Price: $59
