Artistic Harmony Rules at Foundry Vineyards
The Andersons have patiently grown an artistic wine experience you won't want to miss.

Located in the western reaches of the renowned Walla Walla Valley, Foundry Vineyards is a world-class winery that blends exceptional wine with fine art to create a unique and memorable wine tasting experience.

Although the winery itself is only a dozen years old, its roots go back to 1980 when its owners, Mark and Patty Anderson, started the Walla Walla Foundry. Mark set up in the back of an auto shop in Walla Walla and slowly grew the business. Today, Walla Walla Foundry works with many renowned artists, and its artwork can be found worldwide.

In 1998, the Andersons planted vineyards around their property, and in 2003, they released their first wine to commemorate the work of their clients at the foundry. This 2003 Artisan Blend Cabernet, adorned with a label designed by artist and client Jim Dine, set the entire direction for Foundry Vineyards. It seemed only natural that the winery would seamlessly connect to the foundry and vice versa.

This is evident from the moment guests arrive at the gallery-style tasting room. Towering bronze sculptures dot the showroom floor, riveting paintings and conversation-provoking photographs adorn the walls. As the award-winning wines are poured, the connection to art is evident again through the creatively designed labels. The appreciation of art continues in the aromas and flavors of the wines.

A visit to Foundry Vineyards should never be rushed. After tasting, guests are encouraged to stroll outside in the sculpture garden, where works from acclaimed artists are thoughtfully positioned alongside planters bursting with greenery. There is also an expansive patio where they can enjoy a leisurely picnic with a bottle of wine and an inspired discussion of art.

The winery hosts many popular events, including quarterly festive gallery openings. Other highlights on the event calendar are the annual White on White Release Party and the annual Fall Release Winemaker’s Dinner when the flagship Artisan Blend is unveiled.
